CBD is one of more than 100 cannabinoids—natural chemical constituents—found in the cannabis sativa plant. While the cannabis sativa plant can refer both to hemp (the source of all legal CBD products) and marijuana, hemp must contain 0.3% or less of THC (a negligible amount), the psychoactive cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant.
